BÅSTAD

Malen

Båstad is a small town in the northwest of Skåne, making one of the county's two peninsulas. About 5000 citizens, a population that increases at least six times in the summer. In a part called Malen, there is an attractive beach affected by erosion. Meadows of eelgrass are found here, but they do not seem to be as big and dense as they have been. An inventory was made, and then in 2021, the large scale planting. The results have been followed up on, an evaluation is on-going as is a discussion about further steps for the eelgrass measure.
